Introduction

As I begin my 5th year as a tennis coach at MVHS I notice that my perspective on the game has evolved in its own unique way as it should for any coach who sincerely seeks to find a way to move towards successful coaching.
 
From literature, from clinics, and from my observations working with players I’ve extrapolated what I’ve found to be useful and helpful to form a perspective.
 
I’d like to use the newsletter to express, to share, and to further develop this perspective.
 
I’ve given a name to the perspective and I call it fusion tennis.
 
It’s fusion of what I consider the primary elements of the game: the court, the opponent, the racket, and the ball.
