Dear Members,
As the new year begins we look forward to a great year at LATC with high participation in several team tournaments, very active interclubs and ladders, and social events, the first being our Annual Meeting.and Dinner on March 25. An email will be sent out soon for you to respond for attendance.
We have received very positive response to our online renewal of dues - the ease in processing and paying. A huge thank you to Patrick Vallaeys for setting up the.website renewal process and secure GooglePay and to MaryAnn Weingartner and Marijke Vallaeys for their hard work in getting renewal details just right.
The survey sent out in November about the newsletter produced good response from membership. 57% versus 42% said they would prefer receipt of the newsletter by email notification that it was available on the website rather than by mail. After receiving many comments a better way to ask the question would have been would members like to receive the newsletter as a PDF attachment to an email as evidenced by the 82% who said they prefer to sign up for a tournament in response to an email rather than through the newsletter. Because of this response the newsletter will be mailed AND sent as a PDF email attachment to all members for three months. The board will then decide if the newsletter will be sent as a PDF only after that time except to those few members who do not have computers. The tremendous savings in printing and mailing the newsletter would benefit all members.
Our two Interclubs are just starting a very busy spring season, and all matches will be listed in the next newsletter and website. The Ladies Doubles Ladder is in the process of a complete makeover and more details are forthcoming.
The 2008 Board will continue to work hard to make us a terrific small community tennis club.
Regards,
Beth Watt
