Dear members,
As Pat Frischmann emailed all via our Google Group’s membership list, retaining the two tennis courts at Rosita, and having the possibility to perhaps add two more courts at Rosita, it is important that the Los Altos City Council hear from MANY tennis voices. You can email council members at council@ci.los-altos.ca.us using Pat’s suggested letter below, or write your own letter and email it.
Proposed letter to Los Altos City Council
To the members of the Los Altos City Council:
Please move the proposed community pool to the community center and keep tennis courts at the Rosita Park site. Los Altos has only nine public tennis courts today, far fewer per person than neighboring communities of Mountain View, Cupertino, Palo Alto and Sunnyvale. We can’t afford to lose any of them. The needs assessment committee has suggested building a new four-court complex on the site of the soon-to-be-removed Rosita sports building because the two current tennis courts are close to school buildings and in poor condition. If the city decides not to build new courts at Rosita Park, at least keep the two courts that are there now and repair them. For all the city’s tennis players, old and young, learners and veterans, keep the tennis courts at Rosita Park, and add more if you can.

The LATC Ladies Round-Robin Play-Day and potluck lunch was a huge success. A big thank you to Pat Frischmann for stepping in and taking over when I was called out of town. Thanks also to Don Frischmann, Bill Watt and Lynn Hunton for helping organize the event, and to LATC for paying the court fees and providing balls. Above all, Play Day was dedicated to Levan Gray, dear friend to so many, who will be undergoing major surgery on Tuesday, June 10. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family throughout this battle with cancer.
Regards, Beth Watt
