Tennis for charity (TFC)

MIXED PAIRS PROGRAM

LATC'S "Tennis for Charity" Program Status June 2010

It's always a delightful, but not surprising change that occurs to tennis activity when the weather improves. It exhausts an obviously "pent-up" energy to crack, smack & pop a tennis ball, almost as if to release the frustrations that continuous rain & intermittently
poor weather produces.

An almost equal amount of matches were scheduled and completed in the last 3 weeks of May/June as were completed in the 3 previous months.
A sliver of sunshine can be like an aphrodisiac on a tennis player's senses. This increased activity can be expected to continue into the 2nd week in July when the "TFC Awards & Garden Party" is planned.
(Sat. July 10, 2010)

As in years past, the party celebrates the end of the TFC Program for the current year with FOOD, FUN & FROLIC at the home of Bette & Jack Bates.
The Garden Party features include:

1. Award Ceremony for the Mixed Pair Team with the best Won/Lost score for 6 matches.
2. A Mini-Olympics program that awards the players scoring the most points (Beads) in the Bocce Ball, Short Court Tennis, Foozball & Ping Pong competition.
3. A buffet dinner for all attendees is served after these events.

THIS IS A MUST ATTEND EVENT ~ FOR FOOD, FUN & FROLIC!!!

I urge all of you to take advantage of the approx. 6 weeks left in our TFC Season 2010 to schedule & complete your matches prior to the Garden Party. Schedule previous "rained out" matches now!

Win or lose, end the season swinging for fun, enjoyment, and opportunity to meet others with a common interest!

The pursuit of Tennis Players for Fun, Fitness and Friendship on the court, blends with a special understanding for the need to Care & Support others who have economic, physical or social needs.

Come join with us in providing support to those in need and enjoy the special "Lifetime Sport" of tennis. more>
