The finale of the 2006 LATC Tennis for Charity program was highlighted by the annual Awards Garden Party on August 12. Approximately 30 attendees were treated to a delightful social interchange with others of a like Tennis interest. A grateful expression of thanks was made to all TFC’ers by Duncan Vicar (CSA Board Member) for their generous donations to the Los Altos/Mountain View Community Service Agency.

The hors d’oeuvres brought by team members were savored and devoured by those present along with salads, roasted chicken entrées and desserts.

The highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of awards to the top Mixed Pair Team in the 2006 program. The awards went to Rose Selby and Ron Spanggord for their 6-match undefeated season. The mini-Olympic activity mixer prompted laughter and screams from the bocce ball court, ping pong table and foozball activity areas. The individuals with the winning total scores in these Olympics were: Al Weingartner (gold medal), Wendell Lehr (silver) and Doris Spanggord (bronze).

An enjoyable ending to a season of tennis and generosity for a worthy cause by all participants.
