The Mother's Day Tournament held on Saturday, May 12, had a moderate turnout of 16 players for 8 mixed doubles teams. The weather was moderate with an occasional cool breeze that produced puffs of wind which challenged most players.
Just ask Marilyn Shodiss fi the wind affected her play and she will tell a few tales of spin. But Marilyn and her partner Ron Fox managed well enough the challenges and emerged at the end of the day with the most points from play to take home top prize.
Not far behing the winners were the runners up, just one point behind in fact, the Helsons, Bill and Helen who were delightfully surprised when accepting their prize.
All 8 teams were close in scores as the teams were evenly matched. Lynn Hunton and Virginia Sorensen were in the chase for top prize all the way.
Mary Ann Weingartner organized the food prezentation which was appreciated by all in attendance.
